SCUBA Camp is a one week program that includes classroom, pool sessions and open water dives
to master the skills necessary to earn an Open Water SCUBA Certification. The first three days
( Monday - Wednesday) consists of classroom and pool sessions and the last two days (Thursday & Friday)
you will use your newly acquired SCUBA skills on your open water check-out dives.
SCUBA Camp participants must be at least 10 years old.

After the completion of the course, participants will earn their Open Water SCUBA Certification.
Those under 15 will earn a Jr. Open Water SCUBA Certification which can be upgraded
once the diver reaches 15 years of age, for a small processing fee.
To register, contact Jim’s Dive Shop at 727-393-3483. An orientation session will be scheduled
with the student, parent or legal guardian and a member of Jim’s Dive Shop staff. At the orientation,
we will issue the student kit and complete the student folder and paperwork for the course. During the
orientation we will cover your personal gear, which the student must provide for the class
(mask, fins, snorkel, weights, weight belt and dive boots). SCUBA is an equipment intensive sport
and having proper, well fitting SCUBA gear is necessary in becoming a safe and competent diver.
At Jim’s Dive Shop, we understand the show room may not be the perfect place to try gear so
we will gladly exchange any purchases if the gear you have selected
does not fit properly once you have tried it in the pool.

Orientations must be completed at least one week prior to the start of your course.
