Florida Gulf Coast Diving July 31, 2011

Video of our dive on July 31, 2011. The first dive is a ledge and the second is on a small wreck. Depths ranged from 60 - 70 feet. The dive sites are 20 miles WSW of Egmont Key, which is located at the mouth of Tampa Bay.

Diving the Sheridan Wreck

The Sheridan is a 180 foot tug that is part of the Pinellas County Artificial Reef Program and is located in the Pinellas #2 artificial reef site. The tug sits upright in 75 feet of water listing slightly and is home to a multitude of marine life.

Dan's Dive with a whale shark.

Dan & Joe were diving South Jack Wreck, located on Florida's West Coast near St. Petersburg, Florida, on 5/27/10 when a whale shark swam by for a little visit. Make sure you turn the volume on when watching so you can hear Dan'e screams of excitement.

Florida SCUBA Olympics 2010

Hosted by members of the Pofessional Association of Dive Operators, the 2010 Florida SCUBA Olympics was held at the Long Aquatics Center in Clearwater, Florida. Divers competed in events that tested their underwater skills. Proceeds form the event were donated to the Clearwater Adaptive Swim Team, which competes in the Special Olympics.

Diving and Spearfishing on the Pipeline

This is the natural gas pipeline that runs from Mississippi all the way to Tampa. Parts of the pipe are buried and exposed portions of the pipe are covered with rocks. The pipeline attracts a wide variety of marine life and is a great fish habitat.
